These Chinese logos are strangely familiar

Have you ever heard of KDS or 快乐星 (kuài lè xīng)? Don't sweat it if you haven't. It's an obscure Western style Chinese fast-food chain which started out in Shanghai in 2002. Its restaurant are mostly found at small towns in the south of China. The first time I saw a KDF store was last year in my school trip to Guizhou, after nearly six years in China. My Chinese colleagues here in Beijing also never heard of it.

But even if you have never set foot inside a KDS before, their logo is going to make you feel right at home. Take a look:

KDS - Chinese Fast Food Chain

Looks like the king and the colonel got busy one night, no? I know I am a week late for valentine but I just had to make this card for them:

Burger King and KFC Love Child

KDS isn't the only one. Another classic example is Maan Coffee:

They went with a different color but I am sure I don't have to tell you where they got their inspiration, right?

And finally, another vaguely familiar sign:

seven-eleven wannabe

That's not a 7-Eleven. Can't you see it's red-green-orange and not orange-green-red?! I mean, it's like comparing a BLT sandwich to TLB sandwich. They taste completely different.
